Here again, long time no see.!!
Welcome back to our blog. It’s been a while. Some of you may remember in the early 2000s Digital Stationery ran the popular Email Letterhead service and then we shut our doors in 2013 a few years after Office 365 launched. The web was changing, apps were developing and we really entered the world of smartphones.
The product that we supplied to 1000s of businesses up and down the nation was superseded pretty much in the space of 24 months with cloud computing, that’s how quickly progress and tech can change!
Today, we’ve re-registered our domain name.! Yes we supplied a whole range of Digital Stationery from eLetterheads to eBooks but their use died quite dramatically with the advent of SaaS (Service as a Software) but today we are setting about re-fashioning our boutique website in to an online store. Yes, that’s right an eCommerce store.
One of our products was a Digital Business Card, probably a little before its time… a CD-ROM that was used at exhibitions and was business card sized – a hit with exhibitors but too costly for one of manufacture and print. Yet the requirement was there long before the production facilities were available.
Digital Business Cards have a new technology promoting their name. They have seen a grown in popularity as the slow to be adopted technology has taken hold. NFC was adopted by Apple smart phones in 2014 and it was very early technology that needed time to settle in. Over the past 10 years NFC technology has very slowly grown in its general application and recently it has seen new heights in the format of all kinds of applications mainly driven by the restaurant trade for food ordering, one of the best applications is its use for Review Cards and Digital Business Cards which is absolutely up our street.
Our new eCommerce store is an upgrade from our original website in 2005 to 2013. The original site steered away from eCommerce because our product range was artwork for remotely installing in to Microsoft offline products sent via email or download link, whereas our new products will all be shipped.
One of the major changes in our new range will be the advent of birthday and celebration gifts as we add in to the range some personalised gifts that are perfect for most occassions.
